What are you reading right now?
I'm reading Juliet, Naked. I love to read novels which have music in their plots, and I love Nick Hornby - this is proving to be one of the best novels I've ever read!
How many books have you read so far?
One, and I'm three quarters trough my second. I'm going quite slowly. I think I'll speed up during the night - I'm more of a night person.
What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I think I'll read the Dark-Hunter Companion. I've had that book in my TBR shelf for a long time and it looks like an entertaining, 'light' read. But I'll see when I get there. I'm a 'in the moment' person :D
Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?Not really. I'm not used to do much on weekends. I just spend my time reading, watching TV and listening to music. I didn't do a drastic change of plans.
Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?Well, so far I've only interrupted to lunch in the first/second hour, and I did short (5-minute-less) breaks to post. Not much. I don't plan on getting interrupted anymore until the end :) (I hope). And my mom has been surprisingly quiet.
What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?How it is well-organized! An online event with so many people, mini-challenges, prizes, etc, takes a lot of time to organize to such perfection, to making sure nothing goes wrong. Kudos to everyone on the administrative team for this read-a-thon! I've also been surprised for the amount of people participating.
And how much I ate. I don't usually eat so much. I've already ate two bags of Doritos, a bowl of Chocapic (two bowls. It was a really big bowl), had lunch, then in the afternoon I ate a tuna sandwich, another bowl of Chocapic and begun attacking my gummy bears. Oh noes!
Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? Not really. As I said, the Read-a-Thon is amazingly well organized.
What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?Get some aspirins before my mom notices I'm beginning to get headaches and hides them. She says I take too many. (I have lots of headaches. Really bad ones too)
Are you getting tired yet?A little. My head hasn't started hurting yet. I only have a little of a pain in my neck from sitting in an uncomfortable chair for too long (damn the awesome Hunger Games! I got lost and didn't even notice anything) but that will get solved soon. I'm more of a night person, so I'm hoping the night time will help me read a little faster :)
Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? Most people have discovered this one, but it's never enough to repeat it - listen to some music! It always helps me getting my energy levels up, and dancing is always a good thing (I don't really dance. I just jump around like crazy. I look like an epileptic chicken).
Looks like you've been doing great! Don't hurt yourself though - rest if you need to as well. Having fun is the most important part. Happy reading :)
